"You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."
- Matthew 5:14-16
Fourth Day
What is the Fourth Day?
Simply put, the fourth day begins just after the 3-day Cursillo weekend and lasts for the rest of the Cursillista's life.
Pope John Paul II gave a message to the Cursillo Movement in 2002, "Dear Cursillistas! Follow confidently the way of formation and Christian life that you have undertaken with so much generosity," and "Duc in Altum!]" [Go into the deep!]
So, how do we keep the momentum going after the amazing experience of the weekend?
The Cursillo Movement has several ways of keeping us focused, learning and evangilizing (or helping us with Piety, Study and Action).
All new Cursillistas are encouraged to immediately join or form a Group Reunion, also known as a Friendship Group.
First: Ask your sponsor, it is part of their responsibility to help you get started.
Second: Ask other Cursillistas at an Ultreya
Third: Check
Group Reunions (Friendship Groups)
Group Reunions consist of a weekly gathering of a small group of Cursillista friends who meet to discuss efforts in Study, Piety and Action and to encourage each other.
Ultreya is a monthly gathering of the Group Reunions in a particular city or parish. TheColorado Springs Cursillo website describes Ultreya as "Whereas the Friendship Group Reunion provides for the good of the individual, the Ultreya provides for the good of the community. Both are essential in terms of the method. Both are important for the realization of the direction of our whole life in the light of the Gospel and the opportunity to share that life with other evangelizers. "

School of Leaders
Often misunderstood, the School of Leaders is not an academic school, but more like a school of fish who gather to hone their leadership skills within the Cursillo method.
"...the School inspires and strengthens the core groups or communities generated by the Cursillos, then deepens the conversion of its leaders and prepares future leaders of the Movement by giving them a formation in holiness, doctrine, technique and the spirit of service. These transformed leaders, in turn, form the Christian backbone of their environments and influence the people around them."
The School of Leaders Meeting is open to all Cursillistas and is especially recommended for any Cursillista who would like to sponsor a candidate, or be on a weekend team.
School of Leaders is usually held the second Saturday of the month at Sacred Heart Parish Hall from 10 am to 12 pm with gathering and refreshments at 9:30 am.
See our calendar of events on the main page to find the next School of Leaders.
Spiritual Direction is a periodic one-on-one dialogue with a qualified spiritual director to help a person to develop a closer relationship with God and to better discern how the Holy Spirit is leading in their life.
Spiritual Directors are usually priests, religious sisters, or lay persons who have specialized training and formation and are certified.
To find a qualified Spiritual Director in the Diocese of Venice:
Ask your pastor if he is not a spiritual director himself, he may be able to recommend someone
